Cerveja Letra wanted to redesign their “LETRA ON OAK '' range, a range of barrel aged beers and approached me to do the task.

I wanted to create a typographic logo, to make a connection to the umbrella brand LETRA (that means “letter”) but, at the same time, I wanted to design a symbol that could be easily applied in merchandising, for example. I choose the “O” to be the symbol, inspired by the barrel’s top.

For the labels I were inspired by the watercolor technique, since the randomness of the ink drop spreading on the paper is similar to the spontaneous and unpredictable process that occurs inside the barrels. I created a different organic shape label for each reference and a color code to help identify the different beers.
